Visiting the United Nations Headquarters in New York before of his auctioned engagement at Madison Square Garden, the Grammy-winning Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage name Burna Boy, expressed his gratitude to the organization.
Burna Boy, who traveled with his mother and advisor, Bose Ogulu, met with Amina Mohammed, the Nigerian Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, during the visit.
Mohammed posted a photo of the meeting on her Twitter page on Thursday morning, in which she praised the artist for his ability to inspire young people.
"I had the pleasure of welcoming my colleague @burnaboy here at the United Nations Headquarters," she tweeted.
'Burna's incredible abilities continue to inspire young people all around the globe,' says the author.
Burna Boy is the first African musician to sell out the famous event center in New York City, making him the first of his kind.
In August 2020, Burna Boy's latest album, Twice As Tall, which was launched in August 2020, broke even another record and won the artist his first Grammy Award.
In February, the singer was recognized as the first African performer to reach 200 million plays on the online music platform Boomplay, which was launched in 2011.
